[Boletaria's OOC future is uncertain - she may become abandoned or simply move to a new home - I'd like to request people continue to respect the project and do not edit Boletaria ingame or on the wiki]
Boletaria was once the great walled citadel of the uplands, a centre of industry, learning and trade. Prior to the The Calamity, Boletaria had a long-established history of neutrality, acting as an open city-state for those who wished no part in war, protected by it's patron diety, Imperito.
None expected this neutrality to last until the end times, and it did not. As the Gods left Amaranthine and purged the world behind them, Imperito joined their exodus, leaving his followers behind.
Not long after the Second Awakening, in the great plains between Zion andBoonville, the city returned to the world; Miraculously, the city was somehow spared the destruction and remains to this day sealed, silent and cut off from the harsh new world outside. No signs of life emanate from the city and all those who have entered have failed to return.
In it's glory days, Boletaria was split into several districts:
- Market Row - Alongside the river entrance to the city lied the beating heart of trade in Boletaria.
- Prosperity - The more affluent members of society lived here, nestled away in the shadow of Uma's Peak.
- Imperito's Terrace - The cathedral district, a single building dedicated solely to Imperito. The Cathedral's bell mirrored another in the keep itself. The terrace bell plays the harmonies of peace and prayer.
- Midtown - The central area of the town, connecting all the other districts, containing the grand theatre.
- Magister's District - Situated on a rise just below the castle, this area houses the dark recluse pub, various purveryors of mystical goods and the mage's tower, all favoured haunts of the city's mage population.
- Artisan's Quarter - The smithies, engineers and manual workers worked in this smoky section of town.
- Lord's Way - Containing the town hall and the approach to the Lord's Castle
- Castle - The grand Gothic Keep of the town's Lords, commanding much of the city's skyline and a large portion of the inner city.
- Lor'Danel Park - A small memorial park between Market Row and Prosperity
- The Graveyard - The inner city graveyard housed the rich, famous, poor and unknown alike. Many have found their final resting place in this small section of town, as the catacombs extend far beneath the ground.
- The Wards - The poorest section of town, a cramped and claustrophobic network of houses and stores.
- The Docks - The only section of Boletaria still accesible fter the cataclysm, often used as a port for bootleggers and pirates, but never for long.
- Dusk Town - A large but sparsely inhabited district of wooden homes just outside Boletaria's dockside gate, commonly used by the poorer but more respectable aspects of Boletarian society.
- The Farmlands - Located over the river outside Boletaria's main gate, the farmlands are compromised of farms surrounding the fertile river and a few buildings unrelated to food production. Previously the site of the Teotich Barracks.
None know how Boletaria survived the great purge, or in what true condition the inner city lies. From a distance, the city seems to have survived with no damage. Researchers from The Chosen, led byTarquin Geld have succeeded in making a foothold in the city docks aboard the Polis.
